We have tested several different types of jigs over a 5 year period and this past year we found, tried and fished what we think may be the best hand-tied hair jigs from Jimbo’s Jigs made by Jim and Carol Nelson right in Illinois.
They have a wide variety of multi-color jigs like the Crappie Knocker, the Bluegill Knocker, a Bass Knocker with or without sparkle tail and the Bass Dazzler with tinsel attractant.
In fact, Jim and Carol’s Hand-tied Calftail Hair jigs seem to breathe in the water and are irresistible to fish.
As we did, you too can save yourself the frustration of poorly tied jigs that will not hold up by visiting www.jimbosjigs.com or call 618-452-3536 for better jigs. It is just like they say “try our jigs and it will be love at first bite”.

Mike from Indiana sent this comment when he received his jig order in the mail: "Thanks, those are some pretty jigs... almost hate to throw them in the water."
Just wanted you to know, I went fishing below a dam last Saturday morning. Had 5 poles rigged with 5 different artificial: jigs with curly tails & spinners, maribou jigs, etc. I threw for an hour. I changed my retrieve, my rate of drop, etc. Nothing. then I tied on one of your Crappie Knockers. Caught a white right off the bat. Couldn't relocate the school ( or maybe there wasn't one), but then I tore the Sauger up. 9 fish in an hour!
A lucky winner of "Crappie Knockers" at the 2005 Spring Fling Crappie Tournament held in TN has this to say about our donation to the tournament.....
Just wanted to say Love the Jigs. Can not wait to feel the "knock" of the crappie on them or a huge bream for that matter. I will give you a hollar when I use all them up. Love that style of jigs for bream.
Thanks
Dak Keylon
A few days later, we received another great email from Chris...
Jimbo,
Couldn't wait to tell you. I went fishing yesterday with my nephew and his father. It had rained the day before and the wind had definitely picked up. The barometer went down and so did the fish. I had purchased one of those wireless Hummingbird Fish Finders that you attach to rod & reel and toss. It works great. We knew where the fish were, but couldn't coax them to bite. We were throwing virtually everything at them: live bait, spinners, various jigs with artificials on them, nothing was working and the fish weren't biting (other then the dink bluegills, which I was thankful for 'cause it was keeping my 6 year old nephew happy and busy). I finally put one of your knockers on my 5.5' light spinning outfit with 6 lb. mono. I believe it was the 1/16 oz (did I say the wind had picked up) Chartreuse head with green and yellow hair. We were about two hours into fishing when I did this. I couldn't get it much past 20 feet so I was letting it drop almost to the bottom. By this time I was used to getting my rig tagged by the bigger gills near the pier I was fishing off of so I didn't expect much when I felt something hit about 10 feet out. Wasn't I surprised. When it first flashed past about 10 feet down I thought it was a huge white bass or a wiper, then it jumped and then I thought it was a Northern pike. In any event I knew the jig didn't match the size of the fish on the other end of my pole (or so I thought). Then I got a good look at it as it swam by sideways about 5 foot down. It was a huge rainbow trout. I knew they got big up in the 'Lakes' and became 'steelheads', but I never expected anything as big as this in a 60 acre lake. My brother in law had brought a net and jumped over the railing to scoop this monster up. Missed him twice and the fish ran both times (my heart was in my throat). He finally got him head first in the net. The fish stuck out the end it was so big. Got it up on the dock and measured it. 18 inches from head to tip of tail. I put it on a scale, but the scale only registered about 2 pounds (cheap scale), so I don't believe it. I know 18 inch rainbows are common up in the Lakes, but down here it constitutes a monster, especially out of this lake.
This exact same jig, the same one that saved my bacon on the last fishing trip to catch sauger, pulled it out again for me this trip. Poor little thing is pretty beat up from being bounced off the rocky bottom of the dam raceway and having to pull in the trout, but it still works. My nephew was extremely impressed and wanted to start tossing jigs right away. Kept trying to convince me to give him the trout. I like him, but I'm thinking grilled trout sometime this week.
I will send pics in as soon as I get them developed. I'll even send pics of the jig in its current condition and of everything else I threw that day. I am very impressed and greatly please with your product. I will be ordering more.
Thanks!
Chris
Darin from Iowa had this to say about our jigs...
Hello
Today was the first time we could go fishing because its been raining and cold here in Iowa this spring. We got to the lake and came upon another guy fishing but he was not having much luck we put on a couple of red headed black jigs because the water was murky from all the rain. The other guy packed up and headed for the his car, he wasn't 50 ft away and we started rolling in the crappies. My son even caught a channel cat on one of your jigs to his great surprise. We caught some bass as well and about 30 fish all together.
We had a great time and had to take my daughter out this evening so she could catch a few which she did. Thanks Darin
Steve from KY seems to be satisfied with our jigs.....
Well Jimbo, I do crappie fish alot but have not tried your jigs on crappie yet. I went to Rock Creek in the Big Southfork Recreation Area in southern Kentucky last week and tied on one of your 1/32 white combo jigs and with light spinning tackle burnt the Rainbow trout up. The trout attacked your jigs with a vengeance. I limited out with 8 Rainbows in a short while. This is why I reordered more jigs. Your jigs are the finest looking and most enticing coming thru the stream I have ever used. Thanks: Steve Carothers
Tyler wrote this after using Knockers for the first time.....
Jimbo, I have recieved the jigs you have sent me. Just like I thought they are the cats meow here on Red lake, I caught 11 last Sunday on them , they wouldnt hit nothing else, I talked to about 15 other boats and they had only got a couple so I showed them what I was using and gave them a card they seemed very intrigued by them and said they would definately get some. I even caught a 42'' pike using your jig fishing for crappies. Talk to ya soon, Tyler
Shari from Indiana tried Crappie Knockers and this is what she has to say:
I like your jigs - have used them. I had the biggest crappie I had ever seen using one of them, but it didn't get netted and rolled at the top of the water and away he swam. That was during a tournament last fall at Lake of the Ozarks.
Chris V. from Belle River, Ontario caught this monster slab on one of our 1/32 ounce red and chartreuse Crappie Knockers.
Chris has this to say about his mighty BIG catch:
Jimbos Jigs always work best when crappies come a knockin' and this just proves it. 4.6 lbs and 19 inches my biggest crappie yet. Keep makin great jigs Jimbo
Frank from Chatham, IL had this to say when he opened up his package of Crappie Knockers:
Wow! Super good work. I love the jigs, can’t wait to use them, will send photos when I do. I look forward to the "knock" of lots of crappie on your fine jigs.
(Read more from our Guest Book located on our Home Page)
Jimmy from Ottawa, Illinois made a trip to Reelfoot Lake with his son, Nolan and some friends. and it turned cold and even snowed. He had this to say after using Crappie Knockers:
I did catch my crappie on jimbos jigs, red head with yellow body. I caught a few graylins on the crappie jig too, that was a battle. We managed to catch about 25 Crappie in between 30 MPH winds, 35 degree temps /25MPH winds, and snow! Nolan caught the biggest, a crappie that weighed about 1 lb. Had so many layers on of clothes that couldn't find the camera when the fish were being caught. We had fun, I would recommend Jimbo's jigs at www.jimbosjigs.com
jimmy
We did our best on chartreuse and black colored jigs. We caught crappie, drum, catfish, and even some stripers. We had a great time and were really impressed with the blue bank resort. Thanks for all your help. Your jigs worked out really great and I'll be using them again.
Jim from Indiana sent us this email after returning from his trip to Reelfoot Lake.
Tom from New Hope, MN sent us this email after his fishing trip to Table Rock Lake.
Had to drop you a note, the jigs worked very well on Table Rock Lake. Your jigs outcaught anything else we tried three to one, including Road Runners, Stump Jumpers, Swimmin Minnows and many other varieties of plastics. The crappies loved ‘em. Thanks for tying up such a great product! Tom
Check out this picture from Jerry of Nashville, IN. This 2.55 pound crappie was caught on a Crappie Knocker during a tournament mid April 2006.
This is what Jerry had to say about his nice catch:
Jimbo this is the big fish we caught at Patoka lake in Indiana at Crappie Usa Tournament. We really like your crappie knockers. We in the past would only finish about 27th place. We finished 4th place in this tournament.
Thanks again Jerry
Check out how pleased Becky from Stockport, OH is after trying Crappie Knockers for the first time:
Chris from Ohio sent this message to us after trying our Knockers and then coming back for more of them.
6/9/06 - Jimbo, I gotta tell you, I've done a lot of fishing and I've never used any lure that I've had more different species of fish hit on then your 'Knockers'. I've told you this before, but your jigs have saved more than one fishing trip I've been on. I've caught sauger, catfish, white bass, BM bass, bluegills, rainbow trout and of course crappie with them. No matter what I'm going after, I always have them in my tackle bag. Thanks for such a great product.
.
Bob from Michigan received his Jig Order and wrote this:
6/26/06 - Jimbo, The best to you and your wife. Well my jigs came this morning about 10:00 am and are they great. I showed them to my fishing buddy, can you believe that he wanted me to give him some of my jigs and I haven't even got them in the water yet. I said Never ha ha.
thanks, thanks, thanks. Christ Blessing to the both of you Bob
Here's a great testimonial from Brett who lives in Kansas City, KS
6/30/06 - The performance of these jigs have been amazing. I've caught really nice crappie on these when they wouldn't hit anything else. In addition, I've caught walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, and catfish.
5/06 - I just wanted you to know that we really tore into the crappie with your crappie knocker jigs. They really do work great and this is very refreshing after we have tried several different types of crappie lures and jigs. As a matter of fact, we were catching just as many crappie as the person fishing right next to us who was using live minnows, so this is spectacular. This crappie was measured at 16 inches long, which he was the largest crappie, but we had many crappie that day, I only took a picture of the biggest one. The best ones that we found for this particular day and lake was the chartreuse green and the red jig head, and the red jig head with the white and black body. We will be ordering more from you in the future. Thanks so much for one of the best jigs we have ever found. Becky
Robert from Kansas says this about Jimbo's Jigs
12/22/06 - Jimbo, Your customer service is absolutley unbelievable! Yes, I did want them all on #2
hooks. The personable attention you showed my first order is one of the reasons I placed another
order so soon. You just don't see customer service like that anymore! Of course I already know your
jigs catch quality crappie as well!

4/11/07 - Hello Jim and the boss - Hey guys I got the jig order in the mail today . I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you they looked great . The "Christmas Tree " jig is just what I was looking for . Also the
J Knockers in white and red will work here also. Looking forward to giving them a dunking this weekend.
I sure do like the fact that the jigs don't have paint in the tie eye , that can be a pain trying to get it out when you are in a hurry at the lake . I will pass your cards along to a couple of my fishing buddies . Thanks for a quality jig and fast delivery----Fred ----
Juan from Albertville, MN sent this email and photo of his nice mess of walleye and crappie at Red Lake, MN. (Caught with Crappie Knockers)

Bill from IL just returned from a fishing trip to Kentucky Lake...This is what he has to say after using his Crappie Knockers for the first time.
4/22/07 - You told me I would be pleasantly surprised when I bought my first Jimbo jigs in February 2006. I finally had a chance to use them this spring on Kentucky Lake and you were absolutely right. They outfished everything and everyone else around us while we were down there. You now have a new
lifetime customer!!! Thanks, Bill Mahan
Here's another one from Bill....after he placed another order!
Thanks Jimbo!!
4/26/07 - Just want you to know, the guy that went to Kentucky Lake with me tried your jigs on Decatur Lake Wednesday. He called to tell me it was not a fluke! He caught about 30 crappie in an hour and a half with your jigs. Only eight keepers, but that's normal for around here. We are splitting the jigs I ordered.
